"As part of the Big Reveal open house, the Alumni Art Market is hitting the Great Northern Way campus October 27th & 28th! Featuring 11 artists and designers from a multitude of disciplines including Design, Photography, Illustration, Fine Arts, and Printmaking, the Alumni Art Market is an unmissable offering of colour, texture, pattern, structure, and image. Come engage with the remarkable talent that has come through the doors of Emily Carr University."
Tristesse and I will have the one two-person show in South Main Gallery's "Summer Seven" Series.
During the months of July and August, South Main Gallery will fill an age-old summer void and engage Vancouverites with a host of current shakers in the contemporary art world. Summer Seven at SoMa, more of an arts festival than an exhibition, will welcome cutting edge creators from Vancouver, Salt Spring, Portland, Bellingham, São Paulo and Los Angeles, and present their work in seven-day solo shows throughout the summer. Yes, you heard right: every week a new solo exhibit. This insolence decries the complacent attitude held by the gallery status quo.
“It’s always seemed odd to me that galleries resign themselves to uninspired and uninspiring group shows in the summer. We want to challenge that way of thinking,” says gallerist Don MacMillan, owner of SoMa Gallery
Tristesse and I are pleased to be participating in this year's Emily Carr University Alumni Art Market. We will be set up together with a selection of our work available for sale. Come by and say hello any time between 11AM - 4PM on either day.
"Shop from a diverse selection of art, design, craft and wearable works - and meet the alumni artists, designers and makers at this fun two-day event."
